After questioning myself on whether it was wise or not to spend an 82 degree sunny day in my basement, I decided to go for it.
I enjoyed the weather to the extent that I kept running outside to hang laundry on the line. Love that smell!
And, I did take breaks. During those I sat comfortably in my breeze-way noticing that it too could use some work.
But mostly I spent the day moving cabinets, tables, chairs and lifting a door over my head.
I'm quite pleased with the over-all look of it.
The cabinets are mostly empty, so there will be room to grow.
I discovered while I was down there that I have ten picnic baskets. There is a possibility that I may paint a few of them white and store them on top of the door (the door that I lifted to the top of those cabinets)..jpg)
Lighting has always been a problem for me (my eyes just aren't what they never were anymore).

I have a few ideas for that. Until yesterday, I would have had the PERFECT lamp to put in there, but I knocked it over and it broke to smithereens.
Good use of the old living room/dining room curtains.
The wall to the right is just studs. THGGM plans to nail up some lattice for me so I can hang things in a not-so-permanent fashion.
I'm far from finished. But after nearly three years, it just feels SO GOOD to be making progress!

Such a cozy spot! I love the sewing nook.
Hi ,that is such a nice, craft get a away!!!
What ambition. I'm having trouble just finding enough energy to clean out one small back room.
Your room is looking great. Wishing you many happy hours there making things, whatever pleases you.
Judy, I'm pretty sure we're related somehow. I know that me and mine smash things to smithereens on regular bases.
I'm jealous.
That is SO INCREDIBLY GORGEOUS!!!!! Those cupboards! that door! that big table, just waiting!!
(can I come over??)
(v word: cozyma)
and now I am noticing the linenes, the thread thingie, the sewing machine, the baskets....
ahhhhh...
good call to spend the day poking around the basement, then running out to the clothesline. sounds like nirvana.
It looks awesome, like something out of a magazine. Good goin'!
Thank you! I'm LOVING it.
Except that the curtained wall has a sort of 'funeral home' look.
