cleaning day

Today is the day set aside from all others for me to organize my personal space, known to me as my 'loft'. It's a plenty big enough room, but has become the 'drop spot' for everything that has no place to be put.

It contains a plethora of books, many are in a bookcase, most are in piles on the floor, although some are now in boxes piled on the floor. In a corner I have stacks of old magazines, and a book case full of several years worth of magazines containing projects I just might someday want to do. I've also started a collection of wooden things I plan to decopauge, someday. Then, there is a box of wonderful watercolor supplies that a friend loaned me. Also, a large storage container full of the raw materials for a family cookbook I meant to finish a few years back. On a shelf on the wall,` and in plastic storage drawers, and randomly scattered here and there are rubberstamp sets, paper punches, scissors, cutters, and other assorted paraphenalia that I can never locate when I need it. In several places I have boxes, bags, and just piles of 'found objects' that I know will be useful to me someday. Oh, and I must mention the canning jars filled with buttons, game pieces and just plain junque. Oh, and also I have a NEW box filled with 5x7 frames. I have 15 5x7 frames, and about that many in smaller ones. Lest I forget, I also have an old wooden box filled with old Scrabble letters, dominoes and bingo markers. For some reason, this box also contains a large number of chop sticks. I can't remember why. Besides a countertop and three kitchen tables, this room also contains a large wooden cradle.

I re-sort and re-pile this stuff on a regular bases. I have to get back at it. Can't remember why, I just do.

That makes me laugh . . . I just threw away three huge bags of magazines this week after I realized I am never actually going to read them. I did, however, save a dozen, which I still feel hopeful about! ;)
