Reducing the Risk

The "Church Law & Tax Report" has excellent material available for churches. Twelve years ago we implimented this at our church. There now exists an even newer resourse for churches titled "Reducing the Risk II - Making Your Church Safe from Child Sexual Abuse".

Next time you are at church, ask a board member if you have a policy in place which is actually followed. If yes, thank them! If no, get busy making sure that not another week goes by without it.

You can thank me later.

What a sad commentary...that the govt is involved in any of this in any way. We have practiced "not letting our right hand know what our left is doing"..only giving cash...for quite a few years now! Do not claim it on taxes of course.

And the other is so sickening...what a society we have become, eh? That these creeps even feel free to frequent churches. We know it is a problem, however...in our parents' church, one of their friends grandkids molested 2 kids before caught and put away for life. The grandparents knew he had the problem and did not attempt to warn the others nor watch the kid (who was in his 20's) themselves...sad, sad, sad. Afterwards they sold out and moved away...how else could they not?
