A Baby Boy Story

I must share with you a "Baby Boy" story.

Baby Boy has become very proficient using sign language.

He also says quite a few words.

Generally, he uses a combination of both.

Recently, someone offered something to him, and made the reasonable request that he say "please".

He energetically rubbed his tummy, meaning please.

Not good enough.

"Use your mouth", he was told.

So Baby Boy obediently licked his hand and rubbed his tummy!

He's a genius I tell you, a genius.
(did I spell that right?) If not, then he is really, really smart!!

Toooooooo cute.

We've always been insistent on politeness around here too. When C (the oldest) was little she could just use the word please to get what she wanted. However, as she got older we felt she should use a full sentence to make her request. We would prompt her by saying "Full sentence, please." So she would respond "Full sentence" or Please, full sentence."

He's too cute. How do you ever deny him anything? I would spoil him rotten.

That is TOO CUTE! What a rascal...and I'm sure he was EVER so pleased with himself! I know Dylan thinks he's the best boy ever when he hands us just about every toy here - and there are a LOT of them - and we praise him to high heaven.
