One Can Never Have Too Many Boxes

Oh, dear.

First off, I cannot believe that we have been back from our fantastic vacation for over a week now. It was SO wonderful.

Yesterday I began sorting, pitching and packing.

You do realize that I am someone who collects things?

A lot of things?

I once heard Daughter explain my collection obsession to her husband by saying - "She went for years without buying anything for herself, so now that she can, she does!" To that I'll add - WITH WILD ABANDON!!!

Anyway.

I've emptied out three buffets. Yes. Three. Doesn't EVERYONE have three buffets?

I filled 10 boxes from just the dining room.

The house Daughter and Son-in-law are buying (inspections pending, just like us) is big. I'm hoping they will want some beds. Their house has five bedrooms. I would tell you more about it, but presently I have BOTH houses sort of mish-mashed into one, and I cannot remember which house has what. Although, their house had a large doe running the yard, and play yard equipment, which we also won't have. Oh, and they have four stalls of heated garage, and a mechanics pit. We would not know what to do with that, as we only have one car, and don't plan to get another.
Today I'm back to packing up collections. I know we still have two months, but I want to have the bulk of it done before the really hot and humid weather hits. I am no good in hot and humid weather. I melt. It's unsightly.
So, today I will pack up all my 'Dutch stuff'. I know it will look great over there, as the owners have a lovely collection of REAL Delft.
And next up, all my cobalt blue bottles. I might not have a place for them, but I am taking them with me anyway. I'll make a place if there isn't one. That's what I did here.
After that, it's my pastel planter collection. I can already SEE the pink swans in my pink tiled bathroom! Every time I watch a show on HGTV, it is THAT pink bathroom at which they are swinging hammers. I've decided to love it. Once I decide to love something, there is no turning back. Good thing too, as THGGM informed me that there is no money to change it either.
Yesterday it paid off to be an owner of dozens upon dozens of napkins, runners, placemats and tablecloths. We no longer get the weekly paper, so I had nothing to wrap my breakables in - or so I thought.
Enter the contents of one of my buffets! Worked like a charm, and no waste!
I haven't even let my mind drift to packing up the thousands of books I have...
Oh, dear...
