Todays Task?

Packing books.

I love books.

I have WAY too many books.

Books are heavy.

I am not strong.

Last night, I found six books that I did not pack.

I intend to read them first.

I am rather sure that I saw THGGM's eyes roll back into his head and a "Phlebt" sound of disgust leave his lips when I mentioned that.

Two boxes went directly to the thrift store. THGGM isn't taking any chances of me changing my mind.

Back to work...

Tim complains a lot about the books too.

I just became Feature Writer at Suite101 for their American Fiction section. Now I guess I will have to read in a more directed fashion. Hm.

I finally hit the point around 10 years ago where I was so overwhelmed with books in the house I got rid of most of my vast collection...well, it seemed like it was vast in our small bungalow! Anyway, I've found that when the itch hits to reread something, I just find it thru Portland's excellent library system. Or I find a cheap copy on Amazon, then donate it to the library when I'm done. With reading time so limited the past year or so, that's helped alot, especially since we now have a vast TOY collection, haha! But I did keep my collection of Gladys Taber books and have them stored on a closet shelf in our bedroom. I couldn't bring myself to part with them, especially since I bought most of them years ago before the PC took over homes and each copy was a rare jewel of a find at Powell Books or obscure book shops I'd stumble across...it took me years to find them all!
