True Story

I still cannot find anything.

I'm not even frustrated about it anymore. It's just a fact.

The medium size box marked 'pink bathroom' is still missing.

My battery charger I remember putting in a 'safe' place. Ha.

Boxes of books I badly want are buried under heavy boxes of other stuff.

Although, I have my cookbooks right here in front of me.

But, no electricity to my stove yet. Or my dryer.

A funny thing happened yesterday.

My niece spent the night, and was watching "Back Yard Habitat". She told me that they made really great humming bird feeders by Velcro-ing test tubes to a backyard umbrella pole.

Her comment?

Where would one find test tubes?

Well.

Enter Aunt Judy!

I knew EXACTLY where MY test tubes were!

In my night stand. Although, it wasn't my night stand at the old house. That is still in the old bedroom. in pieces.

I really have absolutely NO IDEA why there were test tubes in my new night stand, but there were.

Two of them went home with my niece.

Those two I bought years ago at a teacher supply store, in case you want to try the humming bird feeders for yourself.

I am neither a teacher nor a scientist. I bought the test tube holder at an antique store in Gulf Shores, AL.

Why is it that I can remember THAT?

(and, if you see me and think i look sickly and tired, my make-up is in that missing box.)

Sometimes it is exhausting being as weird as I am.

Ha. You crack me up Judy. And I totally understand how exhausting it is to be weird. I'm with you sister.

I laughed at that, too. No wonder I'm so tired all the time. I'm weird.

When we moved my mother in-law from her house to a condo close to us we couldn't find her TV remote. Mom kept telling us that she remembered putting the remote in a safe place. We looked and looked for that remote. Finally my wife went and bought mom a new remote. We made it a habit to go to moms on Friday even for tea, cookies, and chitchat. Some Friday evenings we would move boxes from Mom's storage area to her condo so she could decorate for the different seasons. On those occasions we would look for that remote.

We never found the remote until after mom pasted away. One of my sons bought Mom's bedroom set and when he went to move the nightstand heard something rattling in it. So he removed both drawers and there was the missing remote. It only took three years to find the remote but we found it.

SO DON'T GIVE UP.

We are planning to sell our house in the spring. I am not looking forward to it. We have been collecting things for 28 years.

I just cannot fathom how so much is still missing!

I'm sure it's because I consider really strange things to be important and really important things to be strange.

Oh, well. Eventually we will get it together.

Look at me, being all optimistic!

Thank you for all of the hope you've given to me!
