This small pair of shoes is now twenty-five years old. Last year, on someone's crafty blog (i believe it was dawn) shared how they hang their children's baby shoes on the tree each year. I thought it was a lovely idea, so here it is! Although, the only remaining shoes belong to Daughter. I also have THGGM's baby shoes. A few weeks back I broke a rhinestone bracelet. I was looking for a way to reuse it, and with just a touch of jewelry glue I was able to use it as a loop to hang the shoes.
Daughter takes after me in that she is a hopeless animal lover. Last week she called me in a panic as at least five deer were preparing to leap across their very busy road. I told her NOT to look but that if she heard brakes and a thud to call 911 immediately - without looking.
Tonight, a police officer with a large gun showed up at her door. He was stopping to inform her that he was sent over to 'finish off' an injured deer that had been seen in her yard.
Jonge was very excited to see the policeman and talk about the 'owwie deer'.
I hope they didn't hear the shot.

What a lovely tradition, Judy. I'm sorry for your daughter - and the deer.
it's a very sweet idea i'm going to share with both my girls! thanks.
This is a wonderful idea and the rhinestone hanger is perfect for the Christmas tree. I never liked the idea of hiding their little shoes away in my hope chest. What a sweet way to display them.
The marshmallow video is a riot! It had me laughing out loud:) He's such a cutie.
I love the idea of the shoes on the tree. I wouldn't even know where to find my kid's baby shoes at this point, though! :(
Too bad about the deer. My daughter would feel much the same way and would probably be outside trying to save it in some way.
You are so clever!!
