I have been meaning to write a post about my new favorite beverage.
Daughter bought a 'limited edition' diet pop (soda, if you do not hail from Michigan).
She tasted it, and knew that it reminded her of something, so, she asked if I would try some and see if I could figure out what it tasted like.
The next time I was at her house, I tried it.
The drink is diet Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cherry.
Have you ever tried it?
It taste just like a cherry Tootsie Pop sucker.
Really. If you are a fan of the Tootsie Pop, run out to see if your neighborhood grocer carries this. If it doesn't ask them to order a case for you.
Then invite me over, and I will drink it. With you, or without you, it matters not to me.
While Daughter is at work and her kids are napping, I throw back a few of these and dream of happy times of yore. The best part? No sticky stick.
And now, I must agree, Dr. Pepper is TRULY the joy of THIS girl. Although I cannot vouche for every boy and girl.
(today i shared a bit of it with jonge, who is sick. he wanted a bottle, but is a big boy now and mommy says 'no bottles' so beppe must also. mommy did NOT say 'no diet dr. pepper chocolate cherry' although i believe she would have if she knew i were going to give the dear boy some. be forwarned. it turns teeth, lips, cheeks, sippy cups and baby sisters red. it also contains caffeine. jonge felt much better after he had a few sips. danced. sang. giggled with fevered glee. all he needed was a visit from the dr.)
It's the most original soft drink ever in the whooooole wiiiiide world.
Really, truly.

I used to live on Diet Pepsi until I lost my sense of taste. It's so weird, but textures of stuff is what keeps me going now and the 'texture' of any soda pop inside my mouth is icky because there's some kind of residue that gets left behind that I never noticed when I could taste it. And I no longer like the feel of the carbonation in my mouth either. I guess unless someone suffers from the same fate I do, it's hard to explain. Now I tolerate diet ginger ale if anything, and hardly ever do I even drink that. I stick mainly to water and coffee.
Alright - I'm a Dr. Pepper Fan - as well as Diet Cherry Pepsi - so I will see if I can find the new Dr. Pepper - and if I do, you better come and help me drink it all!
This Canadian is thrilled to hear you call it POP!
It was "pop" in Illinois, where I grew up, too. However I have lived in Colorado for many years, and it is definitely "soda" here. I still call it pop!
Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too? Yes I would. Dr. Pepper is my favorite, and I've had the Chocolate Cherry version in the past but didn't know it was out again. Did it come from Meijers? I must go out a find it!
It is POP, not soda....soda is what you bake with.
I saw some in the store yesterday and wasn't sure if I should buy it because it only comes in 12-packs. What if no one liked it? I guess I better go buy some. Cherry tootsie pops, yum.
I recently heard of this new flavored Dr. Pepper. We call all soda pop "coke" here in the south. You know 'hey want a coke?' Sure what ya got. 'we have pepsi, dr pepper and sprite. which coke ya want.'
Any way a couple of girls in my office were talking about a weight watchers receipt for 1 point cake. get a boxed cake and mix it up using 1 can of diet soda pop (coke whatever) in place of the wet ingredients. they used the chocolate dr pepper-supposed to be real good.
BTW here by way of Actual Unretouched Photo
Just so ya know Dr. Pepper was invented in Waco Texas, in case you didn't know and wanted to.
You are tooooooooo funny. That said - I too love Dr Pepper and when my FIL was her he bought Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper - yummy... ;)
This made me laugh so hard. Nelson and I really like this while the kids think it tastes like medicine.
This past weekend I tried something special. I had the kids pick me up a large serving of soft serve from Dairy Queen and made a float with it and your new favorite pop---which I happen to agree tastes exactly like a cherry Tootsie pop! Yum!!!!!
