I remembered that I had a transfer pen, so I found that (i FOUND it, i'd never used it, bought it years ago, and i FOUND it, right where i had put it). I went over my drawing with the transfer pen and ironed it on to a thrifted khaki-colored napkin.

The transfer pen worked wonderfully. The fabric? That seemed to have too much 'give'. I tried to give myself my usual look of glasses down on my nose, but I couldn't get that right. So, I had to pull out a bunch of stitches which really stretched the fabric around my face. I'll know better next time.
Anyway, I got my hair exactly right. Brown, grey and thinning, with frizz.
Sadly, I actually have this outfit. I wear it exactly twice each year. Memorial Day and Independence Day.
I might just have to do a series of faceless dolls. I can get the body to look right, but not the face. Faces are hard to do.
Not bad for a first try, I say.

I am thoroughly impressed! I think the face looks fine... and faceless dolls look kinda creepy unless they are done right!
And well done on finding your pen... of COURSE it was right where you put it!
I agree: the face is cute...and so is the outfit. But the hair is truly best of all!
Lovely! Makes me wish I could draw!
