Tonight, I ventured down into my basement to sew.
The machine works great!
Although I was reminded of the simple fact that I do not know how to sew.

Judy you are adorable! You just need to start with sewing something with straight lines. Google "free sewing patterns" and you ought to find all sorts of free stuff you can play with. If you don't like that, even easier would be to visit walmart and get one of their "easy" patterns (simplicity, I think) and they are super easy. Reading a pattern takes a little, but I have every confidence that you will be able to figure it out. And when in doubt....Blog about it! There's plenty of ladies to help, plus I keep tabs on your blog and I can give you a pointer or two. LOL

I still like your file title best of all. And your sewing room. So tidy, with a gorgeous cupboard, all full of nicely folded fabrics. (she drools....)
