A bit of thrift/antique shopping was done this weekend.
Updating my Simply Thrift blog.
Oh, and for the record (because we have already established that their IS a record) THGGM had the hawk fly past his windshield today as he pulled into the driveway.
It has taken up residence and seems to feed off of what feeds at our bird feeder.

We have a Cooper's Hawk that lives...I think...in a huge Douglas Fir over on another street. At least, that seems to be where I see it fly towards whenever we have a rare sighting of it. My brother-the-bird-watcher almost had a cow when he spotted it here a couple of years ago. He said they rarely come in to urban areas. This one is so fast in attack you wonder if you really even saw it once it swoops in. It's 'exploded' into our tree outside the front window and is gone that fast! Sometimes while I'm sitting here at the computer which faces outside the dining room windows, it'll streak down low enough between our house and the neighbor's I'll catch a second's glimpse of it. But one day I did spot it sitting on top of a telephone pole across the street. That was REALLY a rare sight. It's beautiful and oh-so-wild! I think I identify with it. And my brother told me it feeds on smaller birds. Our tree out front is a haven for chickadees and house sparrows.
I had to read that twice.."feed off of what feeds at our bird feeder". Oh that pesty food chain!
