It began innocently enough, this obsession of mine with Boutonniere dishes.
Daughter-in-law offered me this coffee pot (with lid!) that hadn't sold at our 'family' garage sale.
I was happy to have it! Still am..jpg)

This is a pattern that I remember EVERYONE having when I was a child. They either had this pattern or the one with the fish.
So, since I had one piece of it, I started to find it jumping out at me from shelves at thrift stores and occasionally in booths at antique malls.
The price and condition vary.

My collection began to grow.
Then, a few months ago we discovered a new antique mall in town. Since our first visit I've had my eye on a service for six. Thirty pieces in all. For thirty dollars.
Hmmm. I'm not good at math, but even I know that averages out to one dollar a piece.

After thinking about it for months, THGGM and I went back this weekend and bought it.
I think all I'll still be looking for is the creamer and whatever cups I can find.
Oh, who am I kidding?
We will probably have to add on a new wing just to hold this stuff.
The dishes weren't really a favorite pattern of mine, but they are now! I do SOOO love the hunt!
And to think it all start with a coffee pot (with lid!).

Lisa :o)
They so sweet. I think "accidental" collections are the best. And, the thrill of the hunt is just the best fun!
