Memorable Memorial Weekend Picnic

Today THGGM and I traveled north to my sister and brother-in-law's home for a family picnic.
Only one nephew was missing, but he has a great excuse. He just moved to Baltimore. That would be a long drive for a summer picnic.
It's not like we haven't seen each other a lot lately, but it was SOO nice to be together for FUN.
And, it was that.
I forgot to bring my camera.
Just picture this:
Wonderful picnic food, adults and children shooting squirt guns at each other, marshmallow s'more stickiness, and a nest of baby robins that kept lifting up their heads for us.
All delightful. Well, if you don't mind noise, water, and being sticky. I don't mind. Much.
We drove home through the orchard region which is about all that stands between my sister's house up-north and our house. Everything green, so much blooming, blue sky as far as our eyes could see.
I didn't have to strain too hard to hear what seemed to be my mom saying, "Oh look, John! The kids are still all getting together. I always hoped they would still do that."
