Practicing

Hobby Lobby had Simplicity patterns for 99 cents this week.
I found a vintage doll clothes redo.
Last night, I found some flannel in my stash (as seen below as an ear ache pillow) and a bit of matching rickrack.

Suddenly, I TOTALLY understand why my mom hated making doll clothes. They are SO tiny!

As it ended up, I could only sew the side seams on my sewing machine.

The rest? I did by hand. And not too well, as you can see.

The stripe fabric I found at the thrift store this morning for 10 cents. On this one I added a ruffle to the bottom. It showed better in the second picture, which somehow has disappeared. I hate when that happens.

I wanted buttons at the shoulder, but there wasn't much room for a button hole. It called for snaps, but I attempted to top the snap with a button. Not impressed with that idea.

Oh, well. Up next I shall try the romper. Maybe.

And for the record, I'm still coughing, the cough medicine is messing with my insides and I have got a miserable migraine.

But, you know me, not one to complain...

I tried dolls clothes once for my nieces. Barbie clothes to be exact. Never did that again! Yours are pretty cute!

I got handmade Barbie clothes as a childhood gift once. I never could figure out how she managed to sew them . . . imagine turning a Barbie sleeve and putting gathers on it!
