Fun Friday

Oh, yes! It was a FUN FRIDAY!

THGGM had today off. Last night we went to Grand Haven, which was lovely, but did not include any shopping.

Today we began by going out for breakfast. That was nice, as our breakfast was free. Apparently it pays to speak nicely to the managers. THGGM is ALL about customer service. And will point out good customer service when he finds it. The manager working today paid our bill.

From there we drove to Holland. THGGM has some gift certificates that he wants to use for something in particular (i'd tell you, but i can't remember). He didn't find it.

Next we headed south to Saugatuck. Saugatuck is such a lovely town. We looked at a variety of interesting art - always fun. Of course, we are not in the market for any 'real' art. All we bought was a jar of Roasted Garlic Onion Jam (don't knock it 'til you've tried it. it's wooooonderful!), and a pot scraper. So romantic!

From there it was back to Holland. Youngest Son has been telling us about a big thrift store in Holland, claiming that we would like it. So, after a bit of searching around we found "Ditto". The MINUTE I walked in the door I saw this picture. It's a Pothast. I just love, Love, LOVE it! It's not old - just a decorative print - but I've never seen one in this size. The other three I have are from old calendars. Of course, I wanted this one for my dining room. I wonder what other treasures I could have found if I had only heeded Youngest Son's advice sooner. I'll never know.

So, that's the picture up there. So happy to have found it!
