Irises

Yesterday I took a walk around my yard.  Things are not looking as lush as in the years past.  Spring's arrival in winter didn't help.  Also, the yard gets a bit less sunlight now that there is a fence.
This spring I only managed to harvest one bouquet of Lilies of the Valley and the peonies have about 3/4 less blooms.
On the plus side, four peony bushes that had been non-producers are sporting a few healthy looking buds.

I actually went out into the yard with Zeke to take some pictures of him.

He seems to be totally recovered.  It's become a challenge now to keep him from running and jumping.  I am sooo thankful.

Of course I took pictures of him, but then decided that he was in desperate need of a hair cut and did that instead!  Obviously, he also knew he needed one and was calm and still while I buzzed off his fur.  Someday I'll get the hang of trimming his back legs, but for now it will just have to do.  And there will not be pictures!  <3

The copper iris is particularly pretty. I did the same thing Wednesday evening. I have some awesome florals - will share soon, I hope.

I am always glad to see flowers....especially in my yard! Looks like my irises may bloom a little earlier than normal...for my area. They usually bloom the second week in June(I guess that when we "get" spring).
Take care,
Nancy

So glad Zeke is better! I know what a relief that is, having gone through what we did with our cat. Your yard still looks way better than ours, even with the wonky weather thing. :) Thanks for your encouraging comments at my blog and I'm glad yesterday turned into a better one for you after the morning! Blessings, Debra

Im so glad your sweet dog is feeling better! My little dog was having tummy troubles for about a week and is feeling so much better, it's so sad when they don't feel well : ( Beautiful flowers, I love Peonies! Someone gave me one cut Peonie once and I put it in water it hadn't bloomed yet and when it did it was almost as big as my head! And it lasted for a long time. Became one of my favorite flowers after that. So beautiful. I also really love carnations : )
