THGGM had Friday off, so we had a long weekend. He ever so graciously helped me with the grand kids on Friday. The plan was that he would take the big kids to the lake for the afternoon.
IT RAINED.
So instead he fed the kids a whole bunch of carby things.
They adore him.
Today we went to the Allegan County Antiques Flea Market.
So did just about everybody else in the state.
The day was just PERFECT for walking around outside.
As always, the people here are all above average.
And the prices are good.
Were YOU there? I was looking for YOU.
We did see quite a few people we know. But not YOU.
Maybe next month? It's always the last Sunday of the month.
Now would you just look at what I found?
Another BIG DOLL! And for a terrific price.
Ever since I found the first one I knew that I would "need" another. My sisters each had a similar doll and it always just looked weird to me to see one big doll all by herself. So now I'm happy in that temporal "I bought something!" way.
Of course, I found her rather early on, which meant that when I went into the bathroom THGGM had to hold her.
He held her by the ankles.
It's possible to meet many people just by standing out side the bathroom holding a life size doll like that.
The last two times we went we didn't buy anything from the actual flea market.
Today we found three things. All grandchildren type things. They are the most fun.
Every time we go we get an elephant ear. ONE. To share.
It wasn't TOO hot today, and there is plenty of shade.
Even this shade in the grandstands. I didn't know about this shade before today.
And look at that weed growing in the grandstands.
This makes me laugh.
Couldn't he just hold it like a baby?
He could. But he would not.
Allegan County has a gorgeous site for the fair grounds.
We made a wrong turn here and went a bit out of our way. I'd forgotten to grab the map on the way out. For some reason the only map we have in our car is of Indiana. And we didn't take our car today. So we toured new territory.
Which isn't a bad thing to do in Michigan, where most of the roads are beautiful, just like the one below.

While you had that Indiana map, you should have come on down to HARLAN!
And, OH! How I laughed thinking of the THGGY holding that baby doll by the ankles!
We were there too! I actually wondered if you would be there. I am always walking around looking at everything on the tables and rarely look up at people. It was really busy there today. We,too, picked up a few treasures. It was a good day.
Maybe we can meet up someday.

I couldn't agree with you more. And no, I wasn't there...but Dear Hubby and I took a nice drive on the back roads Saturday. I do love wild little sunflowers that dance in the wind along the roadside.
A nice road to drive on, straight and no damage., but not suitable for fast or reckless drivers.
