Weather or Not

 It's hot.

Heat is something I just cannot handle anymore, so I am staying put today.

I looked briefly around my kitchen and found a few supplies that hadn't yet been delivered to their rightful spots.

On Pinterest I've seen where creative people write on pillows with stencils and Sharpie markers.

Now I can tell you that it works!

Of course, I started small, with a simple pouch made from upholstery material I found at the thrift store a few weeks ago.

All I did was cut it and glue the sides.

Then I added some lavender.  It is now hanging on the ladder in our bedroom.

I see more birds like this one in my future.  Although why, I do not know.  It's just cute.

 This is where THGGM spent the afternoon.

He would not allow me to take a picture of him floating on his raft in the grandkids pool.

I do not know why, as he looked perfectly cute floating there with his head phones on.

Of course he has all of this extra time now that there is little to no need to mow.

 The ferns, which normally fight to take over the yard have bowed their heads and whithered.

But even in the midst of all this heat there are still bits of beauty popping up here and there.  These were not planted by us, but I'm thankful that SOMETHING is flowering on this hot dry early July day!
