And On Tuesday...

Just ONE video of the birthday festivities and then I shall be on to other things...

This morning was errand morning.  First stop was to the Secretary of State office so I could renew my waaay past due drivers license.  Thankfully I've had no need to drive since June 1st, so it wasn't a problem. The problem was that I look quite a bit more than eight years older in my picture.  Then it was off to the bank to have some important papers notarized, and on to the post office to over-night the papers.  Amazingly it all took under an hour to accomplish.

So of course there was more morning to use up, so we went to what used to be one of our favorite haunts.  Hmm.  Things are changing there.  Not sure what to think about it.  It's not that I didn't find things, it was just much more of a hunt to do so.  Oh, well.  If things never changed I'd complain about that too.  Because that's what I do.

Even after meandering around there we still had more morning left, so we went to my favorite local thrift store.  I found a vintage linen table runner and an interesting piece of fabric.  That's all.

And since it was now afternoon and THGGM was off today we went for lunch at Olive Garden.  I won't need to eat again until Friday.  Mmmm.

For the rest of the afternoon I played with Feintsje while THGGM, Daughter, and the three big kids went swimming at Millennium Park.  It was such a beautiful summer day.  Quite possibly the best one so far.  But, I think Feintsje and I had just as much fun as they did.  I believe the game was that he was going off to work, walked out the door forgetting to give me a kiss, and then had to run laughing back to me to give me one.  I really liked that game!  But then when he went out the door again, he didn't know what he was supposed to do (probably because the directors of pretend play in his life were not present to give him orders) so he'd come back with a gilded piece of fruit, hand it to me and plop down until it was time to go to work again.  Then we watched Caillou on the computer.  In French.  Feintsje really seemed to like that.

THGGM came home exhausted from a) eating too much at Olive Garden and b) floating around in a lake all afternoon - but I had plans.  So off we went to Barnes and Noble where I replaced my broken reading light and purchased the August edition of Country Living British Edition.  It did not disappoint.  Never does.

So now I shall have a brighter light to read "Grant Takes Command" by.  The Federals are getting closer to moving in on Richmond.  While at Barnes and Noble I perused the Civil War books.  Not sure if I'll continue in that direction or pick up something with less heft to read once summer has ended.  Since I've also been watching some of the History Channel's series on Ancient Aliens, my dreams have been extremely weird lately.

While at Barnes and Noble I also read all of the Sandra Boynton board books that I do not own, just in case you thought I had gone off the deep end in my daily reading.

That was my day.  What did you do?

The grandboys and I had a wonderful day until 4 pm when my hip and lower back seized up. Then it was an emergency visit to the chiropractor. Sigh. I am SO tired of feeling miserable.
