Ohhh Boy

See this cute little face?  Kado is the only one of Daughter's children who was not sick today.
Jonge has been sick for almost a week now, so he came to stay with me today along with the little boys.
He was nestled snuggly on one side of the couch this morning while Feintsje had his morning bottle with me on the other end.
Kado was happily playing with blocks, cars, and dinosaurs on the floor.
Suddenly and to all of our horror, Feintsje threw-up.
He'd never done that before and seemed to be more interested in what had happened than upset about not feeling well.
Daughter had just left for work, so I called her and she quickly made her way back.
Before she got back I was able to clean up the still confused Feintsje and wrap him in a blanket.
Soon we all , even Daughter, settled in to watch Sesame Street.  Everyone seemed fine.  Kado - the not sick - willingly went down for an early nap.  Daughter and I discussed that it seemed okay for her to go to work to at least cover lunches, and that I would keep her informed on Feintsje's condition.  No sooner had Daughter got to work when her phone rang.  It was the school.  Famke had thrown-up.  In her kindergarten classroom, after lunch, during math, all over her new clothes.  We all spent the rest of the afternoon together huddled under quilts.
Thankfully, Hertsje was at home with her mommy away from the coughing, sneezing, vomiting cousins.
In other family news Oldest Son and DiL1 had to put their beloved beagle, Lily, down this morning.  Lily came to them seven years ago when Oldest Son was laid up for months with a badly broken leg.  Earlier this year she began to really show her age so we are all happy that she had made it this far.  But it's still so very hard.  She was a beloved family member who will be missed.
And remember those transient pains I get periodically?  Please say yes.  Anyway.., for the past three weeks the pain has been on the top of my right foot making it nearly impossible to flex my foot, or to walk with shoes on - both obviously necessary things.   Well, to make a long and boring story short(er) over the weekend while I was moving a baby chair from one room to another I dropped it ON THE TOP OF MY RIGHT FOOT.  It was one of those explosive pain feelings where I saw stars and nearly passed out.  Now I have a bruise on top of my right foot, but guess what?  It doesn't hurt AT ALL anymore.  Almost like the old wives tail about slamming a Ganglion cyst with the family Bible.  Maybe next time I get it in my hip I'll just ask THGGM to smash into me with the car.
Should I mention that the night before we left for Wisconsin THGGM was walking through our basement in the dark and kicked his 25 pound weight that was sitting on the floor?  Okay.  I'll mention it.  I'm sure he broke a toe or two but he is a brave man and doesn't complain about things the way I do.
Speaking of weight, Saturday THGGM dropped me off at Michael's Craft Store while he went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to buy Pumpkin Spice K-cups.  He had to wait in line for a bit and when it was his turn the cashier said to him "Sorry about your wait." to which he replied "What's wrong with my weight?  Are you saying that I'm fat?"  This caused one cashier to become very embarrassed and another to laugh her head off.
Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get the rest of my vacation pictures posted.  Maybe.

Wow! Glad the pain's gone in your foot & hope the color returns to normal soon. AND hope the sickness runs it's course w/o taking you WITH it!

I love the "weight/wait" thing. I'd sure like to remember that line. If I can, I'll use it! Yes, I will.

Kado is looking so grownnnnnnnnn up. :0( While I know that THIS DOES happen, I still will miss his baby face,
Was hoping that you found out what was causing that pain on the top of your foot...cause every once in a great while I get that horrid pain. It feels like it's black and blue from an injury, but there is nothing there and NO injury had occurred.
If you ever find out what causes that pain, please let me know.
Hope all the kiddo's get well soon.
(((hugs)))Pat

I'm so sorry everyone is puky. Hope that stops really soon. A week being sick is soooo long to a little one.

I'm still laughing about the weight/wait....

Oh my gosh, Judy, I am laughing over this post. Not the part about the poor little kids puking. But the thought of you being smashed by a car . . . and THGGM's weight. You are TOO funny!
