10 Things I Am Liking About This Summer

 Of course, there are WAAAY more than ten things that I am liking about this summer, but I do need to go to bed soon so I must narrow it down.
1.  I like that we've made it to July 11 without reaching the 90's.  I do not like the 90's and they do not like me.  Having a fenced in backyard seemed like such a waste last year with so many days at 90 or above.  We didn't play out there much at all.  This year?  The backyard is getting a workout.
2.  I like seeing Jonge and Famke more often.  They are growing up so quickly and are extremely fun to have around.  I will always love summer for that reason.  Although I do miss seeing Hertsje nearly every day. 
3.  I like it when THGGM grills and we eat outside.  Seriously.  I might want to continue to do this right on through until it snows.  
4.  I like making a big tent in the backyard.  It's just as fun as I remember it being when I was a child.
5.  I like watching lightening bugs.  They are so interesting.  I do hate earwigs though.  The creepiest bug ever.  Kado had worn a hat in the pool earlier this week.  On Wednesday when he went to put it on his sweet little boy head AT LEAST twenty-five earwigs crawled out of it.  So, lightening bugs yes, earwigs no.
6.  I like it that I've finally made the time to rearrange the bedroom.  I like it that I now have a Kindle which has pretty much eliminated my need for crazy piles of reading material on my side of the bed.  Now the crazy piles of reading material are hidden safely inside my Kindle.  But I do also like crazy piles of books and magazines on my side of the bed.  It was someone else who didn't like that.  I like him too.
7.  I like it that it is still rather light out at 9:30.  I like that a lot.
8.  I like it that THGGM takes care of all the outside stuff.  Were it up to me we would live in a meadow.  And there would be dandelions, lots and lots of dandelions.  
9.  I like my new bird feeder in the backyard.  One morning there were four male cardinals sitting on the fence waiting for their turn at it.  I still worry about those hawks.  But they are beautiful, and also need to eat.
10. I like it that when THGGM got out of work on Wednesday he took the kids on a walk to Hertsje and Broeder's house.  I like it that all four kids were SOOO happy to see their cousins.
