And the Rain Stopped

Yesterday we took a chance and drove the scenic route (Leonard St.) to Lake Michigan.

It was still raining when we ate lunch in Muskegon (Wendy's on Henry).

Even as we drove into the Nature Center parking lot (Hoffmaster State Park) things looked rather iffy.

But being the hardy sort of pioneers that we are (insert laughter) we went ahead with our plans anyway.

And it ended up being quite possibly the best summer day at the beach EVER.

I thought there would be CROWDS, as the Coast Guard Festival was going on in Grand Haven, and it was a summers day in August.

Oh, my.  I guess there really aren't that many of the hardy pioneer types left in these parts.

Where IS everybody?! I remember when summer days meant looooong lines just to get into a state park. Not that I'm complaining.., you know me.., not one to complain...

Last thursday 95 degrees Fahrenheit over here. If I want the tropics I will go there, please do not bring it to my doorstep! ays until now about 8 degrees lower, tomorrow again about 95, almost too hot to breath. Hot dry or hot damp weather and I do not agree very well, I just manage to sit in the shade in the coolest place at that time (airco makes my lungs protest) and crossstitch very slowly. I like your day at the beach, I would be roasted like rare beef within five minutes, ten in the shade. I love looking at all your grandchildren and take a daily look at Broeder sleeping. Have a nice Sunday, DM.
