If Things Go As Planned

This may be Kado's last day as the baby of his family.

It's a roll he has been darling at.

Of course, no one is sure just what he is going to have to say about that.

But I'm thinking that with his great love of playing "dad" to all of the dolls in my house he ought to do just fine.

And, I'm going to guess that this next baby is going to have a lot of dark hair and weigh about 8 lbs.

The others were 9 lbs 3 oz, 8 lbs, and 7 lbs 13 oz. They all came earlier than this one, and only Jonge was born by C-section.

If you would like to pray for a safe and healthy delivery, please do!

Random Altered Pictures from My Day

At first Famke was a waitress with the apron around her waist. In the pocket she had a pencil, paper, and two straws. In this picture she has moved it up to her shoulders and is now a super girl.

These two were extremely sweet this morning. It lasted about an hour.

Famke got a "mood". I recognize this, as I get them too.

The breeze-way redo was a hit with these guys. Jonge thought it looked like a brand new house. The difference comes not just from all the paint. The yearly hosing down and washing of the windows helped too.

Kado had the time of his life with a straw today. He will be two in just a few weeks. Sometimes I wonder if he has any idea of the changes coming his way.

Rarely can I get all three into a picture.

Imagine. In five short weeks there shall be a fourth one.

Hmm. I'd better go to bed.

Gifts!

It's debatable who had more fun with this project, the grandkids or me. They LOOOOOVE making things for their mommy. We planted bean seeds for her garden, made her cards, AND colored these picture frames. Their favorite part was adding the googly eyes to their faces.
Oh. And those are their names. As Famke would say, "for really!"

Until Tomorrow

Hmmm. Presently there are only three minutes left in 'today'.

This means that I shall be terribly busy tomorrow getting everything done that needs doing.

Although, I have that feeling that I MUST make something. Like, if I don't make something I will scream.

It is also possible that I will scream even if I do make something.

Especially if I make something that requires hot glue.

My Up North sister came over today with her adorable grandson Great Nephew.

All the kids played wonderfully together. I'm not sure WHAT they played, but it involved cars and plastic animals. My goodness does time FLY when there are four kids between the ages of 5 and 1. My sister arrived at 11 and left at 4 and I believe we only spoke two uninterrupted sentences to each other the entire time.

In any spare time I can find, I keep my eyes on the Decorah eagles nest. Fascinating to watch the bald eagles caring for three eaglets. The first time I watched the parents caring for those tiny balls of fluff I was overwhelmed with thankfulness that I have TWO HANDS.

Happy Birthday!

Famke is playing "Big sister waiting in the car for the pizza man."

I have no idea what that is about, but she did make sure everyone was properly buckled in.

And then they became the audience for a Birthday game of "I spy with my little eye".

Yes. Uncle Youngest Son came over to play with us on his birthday!

Jonge and Famke were delighted to be able to give him MORE cards on his actual birthday. They even gave him the flowers they were making.

Playing "I spy" with a book is one of Jonge's favorite games. He was sooo overjoyed to have found TWO of the very same book, which makes it all the more fun.

Kado slept for three hours. He missed out on I Spy, flower making, and waiting in the car for the pizza man (whatever that is).

But he woke up (actually i woke him up) all snuggly and cute so we watched Caillou together with him tucked nicely under my chin(s).

A very nice day.

Lunch with Mommy

Today we had bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese, and apples.

Kado had just woke up from his nap and was very sad that mommy had to go back to work. Usually he just gives a wave and says "Bye bye mama". But today he had more things he wanted to say to her.

But he got over it. Quickly.
Today I discovered too late to do anything about it that the gallon of milk in my fridge had expired yesterday. It smelled just a tad funky.
Kado seemed to greatly enjoy his nice warm bottle of Half and Half.
Who wouldn't?

Famke's French Braid

Famke is not a fan of pony tails nor barrettes. This means that she has hair in her face A LOT.
But when she saw Kado getting his hair cut, that looked like a good idea for her.
But Pake easily talked her into a French Braid instead. He used to French Braid her mommy's hair when she was a little girl. I'm not one to bother much about hair.

Famke's looks change dramatically when her hair is pulled back. She has the most beautiful brown eyes.

And she even seemed rather pleased with the results!

Kado's First Hair Cut!

Kado was only a wee bit reluctant, as seen in the pouty lower lip. But it didn't last long and the bells helped!

There was not much to cut, just those feathery wisps in the back that had gone out of control.
Pake is a handy guy to know. Not only can he fix a few things around the house, he does hair!
After all the attention Kado received, Famke was more than willing to have a French braid put in her hair.
Pictures to come (but you already knew that)!

My Kind of Monday

It was LOVELY.
Although there are things I do not enjoy about THGGM's new work schedule, having him home at 2:15 in the afternoon is NOT one of them. I enjoy THAT very much.
He took the big kids with him for an afternoon adventure which left me and my little man Kado to snuggle together for an hour.
An entire HOUR of snuggling.
Can't think of any other way I'd rather spend a Monday!

Picture Not Perfect

So often when the picture doesn't come out so great, the expression does.
Still trying to catch the sun when it decides to shine.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Kado and Famke REALLY enjoy playing "Mom and Dad".
Famke had just woke up from her nap, and Kado was in desperate need of his.
For some reason, THIS thrifted blanket was THE prized item of the day.
MUST have THAT blanket.
It's the part of "Mom and Dad" that I understand!

Give Me an A!

Almost two weeks into the new year, and I'm still thinking about 2010. I feel as if I haven't put it properly to rest, yet.
But, 2011 marches on and I've no complaints about it.
Especially since 2011 will bring me another grandchild to love!
Jonge came on the run to get me yesterday, as his much beloved sister had made the letter "A" on the chalkboard. Her 'real' name starts with the letter "A".
Jonge was nearly breathless with joy. As you can see, Famke wasn't quite as excited.
But, we did manage to get her to pose for a quick picture.
In other news, I did FINALLY manage to watch the Pixar movie "UP". Have you seen it? I'm thankful that THGGM and Jonge had already seen it, and warned me about the sad parts. But, had I the ability to shed tears, I would have. Instead, as is my way, my upper lip swelled and I choked a bit.
Jonge held my hand. He said it would get happier.
Most things do. Most things do.

My Kewpie Doll

This boy is FUN.
He has begun to speak.
Mostly, "NO WAY!!"
