Hiding the Ugly

I thought I could put this lamp up on two books and use it to block the ugly thermostat. I thought it was a great idea! Then, The Husband God Gave Me came home. Why is it so cold in here, he asks. I don't know. By the time we could see our breath, he investigated.

Hmmm...

Seems that it isn't a good idea to have a warm lamp right in front of the thermostat.

So, we're back to the ugly look of the thermostat.

Or, not turning on the lamp.

If you are buying the house, why not get a nice new thermostat? They have some very nice ones out there.

Just renting the house. But the thermostat isn't ugly, it's a very nice one. It's just in a weird spot.

For some reason I get obsessive about some things, and can let others go.

Like, when my kids would see me sweeping the ceilings with a swiffer. Daughter loved to point out that there were actually more pressing things than having a nicely swept ceiling.

Silly young one. There is nothing to move on the ceiling.

Yea, we rent as well...gives one more flexibility that way. We are dealing with a dying heat/air system....and extra high electric bills...the landlady had told us she would replace that once the heat lifted, but then she decided to wait till spring and like I told hubby...don't count on it then either. Well, likely we will move anyway, come summer sometime. I hope the next place will be a more economical one for sure!!

I am trying to be a better house keeper myself...signed on with the flylady...but been trying to recoup from the bug we got early this year leaving us so exhausted.
Blessings...Elizabeth
