I've nothing to say today but this.
IT'S OVER AND I SURVIVED!
THGGM left for work this morning.
He will return home tonight.
He will not drive to Illinois.
He will not stay in a condo/hotel with maid service and someone who launders his shirts.
He will not have an expense account.
He will not be drinking Starbucks coffee.
He will not be driving an '06 Impala/Lucerne/Whathaveyou (i know nothing about cars, so cannot be impressed - except for heated seat)
He will not be having dinner at Japanese restaurants where they steam shrimp right in front of you. He will not be dining twice in one week at the Cheese Cake Factory. No more Big Bowl with Oldest Son and Daughter-in-law who live in Illinois.
He will not be in control of every minute detail of his evening.
But, he will be home with me! Me!! ME!!!
The one whom he forbids to iron his shirts (he does not like having two creases down his sleeve).
The one who flunked maid classes.
The one who cooks when the mood hits, every few days or so.
He will have to share his treats. I will have to hide mine.
Today he packed his own lunch.
He will sit at a computer and answer phones.
He will actually be doing what he spent the past nine months teaching.
I must get busy. He needs to be retrained. Here, the seat must always remain in the 'down' position. Always. Down.
We now officially leave our fantasy lives and return to normal. Whatever that was.

Sounds like a happy day!
Ah Judy, I am glad he is finally going to be home! I can only imagine how lonely it must be sometimes with THGGM on the road all the time. I get lonely when my hubby just works late!
Yay!
(In my house, the seat and the LID must always be down. It's actually easier for my hubby to remember that way. Plus, nothing ever falls in the toilet.)
Wow...glad he can work from home now. While it is nice to have time to do things as we wish, it is also harder to not have them around for days at a time.
Blessings on you during the adjustment!
