Family

Lest I forget my OWN family of origin, this is us.

It's also my first attempt at a 'shadow box'. I think it's time to revise it.

I'm the sad looking one on my dad's lap.

I asked my mom about this once, and she said I had been terribly whiny all day and my dad had just had enough.

The next day, I was very sick.

Although it must be said that many days I have been whiny all day, and awake in great health the next morning.

I really had to hunt for the skate key. My dad found it for me.

The ivory elephant pin came from my mom, who's twin sister brought it home from India.

I found the Cracker Jack charms in a pink silk pouch someone had saved.

And, of course, nothing is complete without a Scrabble label.

What a face your Dad's making! My DH is that way. "Take the picture!" he's often saying, half-frowning...

I think it's a very good shadow box. I'm going to have to try that myself, after I finish the heritage pages in my wedding scrapbook...
