Meet Clarence and Kathryn

I found this picture today, and posted it on my Plethora blog.

I didn't know who these people were, but thought it might be THGGM's grandfather's sister.

After I posted it, I thought I would 'google' what I thought her maiden names was, the year of the picture, and the state the picture was taken in.

Well, did I learn A LOT!

This is Clarence and Kathryn. One of Kathryn's young students at the country school she taught at wrote about her in a family history written in 1980. She befriended him before he was school age, and let him enroll earily.

In the home town newspaper, I learned her husband's name.

This all took a matter of minutes to learn.

I can't seem to get any one else here excited about this, but I think it is just incredible!

Sounds cool! You should write a story about them :-)

That is a gorgeous picture. Such beautiful people. I can be so easily sucked into family history stories etc. I would have been right there with you saying, "oh cool!"

That is really, really cool. I think it's amazing you found out all that information online.

Way to go!

And what a beautiful bride she was.

I now know that they both taught in Minnesota.

Clarence died in 1952 and Kathryn in 1977.

They are both 30 years old in the picture.

And, I have to add that Oldest Son did find the story interesting.
