It's very very quiet over here.
Oldest Son, who is visiting for a few days, went with THGGM to see the new Superman movie.
Youngest Son and Girlfriend and Daughter and Son-in-law went to a White Caps baseball game.
I watched Baby Boy. But, they just left with him.
So it is just me Me ME! And I am sitting in the quiet.
Well. That is the relative quiet. Barb, my cat, is asking for his supper and nibbling on my arm.
I have SO much to do. But I'm going to sit here a minute and soak in the quiet.
And, I will tell you that the noise around here today was all happy noise.
Baby Boy learned to "Pat-a-cake" today.
He doesn't quite have the clapping down, but he gleefully clasps and unclasps his boyish little hands. It is SO unbelievably cute!
This morning I took him outside to touch the trees. This is one of his favorite daily rituals. Touching moss covered ash trees.
Youngest Son had left an old soccer ball out there and I started kicking it around. Then, Youngest Son came out, took Baby Boy from me, and we had a little game going with the ball. Baby Boy never once took his eyes off the ball. Youngest Son was like that, too. ALWAYS had to have a ball. He is still like that. He's twenty two years old, and at least once a week I hear myself tell him in my stern mommy voice - NO BALLS IN THE HOUSE!
Well, I'm off to listen to the quiet some more.

Listen to the quiet or the sounds of silence. Say hello to Simon and Garfunkel if you see them.
Slap me, I feel giddy.
It was short-lived.
But it was GOOD!
I had a major crush on Simon and Garfunkel back in the 70's.
Back in the 70's...when it was always quiet at my house...
I like Simon and Garfunkel too. Only I found them by listening to my mom's records.
I miss the quiet.
Enjoy it while you got it!
Quiet is one of my most favorite things! Enjoy!
I'm teaching Little Man the "Hokey Pokey" right now and he just goes CRAZY, lol! And he loves to go out on the back porch and have Grandma tinkle the wind chimes. My quiet time is right now, between 4 am and 5:30 am. Dear Hubby's left for work and the little guy doesn't get here 'til close to 6 so I turn the stereo on low and relax on here for a little while, reading comments and emailing. I used to be a night owl but Dear Hub's been on early shifts for about 25 years and I've adapted myself to his schedule. We're both usually in bed by 7:30 at night, ha! So we've never had much of a social life as far as "couples" friends...we pretty much have pursued our own to fit our schedules...but we're so content with each other 99% of the time we don't really need anyone much otherwise outside of our kids and grandchild.
