My Life

These are two of the three crafts for Bible School next week. The funny looking one is a sheep. He still needs his sign, which will say "Lost" on one side and "Found" on the other. I still have a lot of prep work to do for the sheep, as most of the juice boxes, which compose it's body, have juice in them!

The jar with the red lid is an "I Spy" jar. It is mostly filled with rice, but hidden inside are nine different objects. One of those objects is a coin. It's really quite fun, and kept my '20 Somethings' occupied trying to find them all.

Not pictured is the "House". I just could not get a good shot. I'm having the most trouble with that one, as glue just refuses to dry in this humidity. Why, oh why did I not remember that from last year? Today I sprayed gray primer all over empty milk cartons, then filled them with plaster. I think they still need to be painted white, but I'm not sure. I'll have to call on my 'committee' for this one.

I love the little sheep. How did you make it?

One empty juice box, emptied and primed (optional).

Two black pipe cleaners for arms and legs.

About 10 all cotton cotton balls, pulled to cover juice box.

One piece of masking tape to hold the legs in place.

Two small oblong pieces of pink felt, pinched together and glued at one end to form ear.

One styrofoam ball and one craft stick.

A small amount of rice, to weigh down the box.

Two googly eyes or black beads for eyes.

Tape legs to bottom of juice box.

Put styrofoam ball on craft stick and stick into center of juice box (the rice helps hold this also).

Punch small hole in 'sleeves' of box and thread arms through holes.

Using small amounts of glue, cover one section at a time with the stretched out cotton balls. Fill in gaps as needed.

Use one cotton ball to cover top and back of head.

Use about a third of a cotton ball for the nose part of the face.

Add two black beads or googly eyes.

Tie bells on, if you wish!

Four beads could also be added as hooves, otherwise, just turn the ends of the pipe cleaners.

I'm sure it would work well covered in batting or felt. I just need to make too many to use that.
