How cool is that?
The next day we left on vacation - me armed with my new map.
I cannot begin to tell you how handy this thing was. Every little town up there seems to have it's own county and we were in and out of several without going many miles at all. The map sure helped! Even THGGM looked at it.
A year ago January THGGM and I were driving through northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin during a nasty ice storm. All of the road conditions and warnings were based on counties. I barely knew what city we were approaching, knowing what county we were in was indecipherable.
But, at least in MY state, I am prepared!
I kid you not. I truly believe that God whispers into the ears of people in my town "Hey, you with the map. You don't need that anymore, donated it! Judy needs it!" And they listen.

Yes, yes, they do!
Those kind of maps are VERY handy. We try to always have at least the state we live in, one never knows when they will be needed! You can locate most every possible road on them, even dirt roads in the West showed up on ours!
giggles...for me "good" map is an oxymoron!
That kind of map makes my husband so happy. Glad it came in handy for you!

Hi Judy... I've been loving reading about your vacation and seeing all your great pic's! Thanks so much for sharing your trip with those of us who don't get out much. :) Oh! And because of your recommendation of that one issue of ME's Home Companion magazine over in your Plethora blog, I started bidding on old issues at Ebay and finally won a 13-issue-lot of magazines, including the issue you raved about--woo hoo! I think 10 of the issues will be new to me--of course, I am counting down the hours till they arrive... :) Thanks so much for recommending that issue--I know I'll enjoy it, too, as well as all the others I missed the first time around! ... Glad you enjoyed your trip....Debra
I cant read a map if my life depended on it.
