Comments Made from the Backseat

My memory will occasionally recall the interesting comments I've heard come from the backseat of our car...

These deep insights came from the lips of Youngest Son.

Out of the blue, while driving home from church one day - "I saw a man at church who has a pink head." (i have no idea why this stuck with me for so long, but it still makes me laugh - and we DID have a man with a pink head at church.)

While talking with a kindergarten friend of his who had just told him that his mom is a nurse. "So. MY mom can go into the boy's bathroom!" (still can. still don't want to.)

At the age of seven. This was said in a very mournful way - "I don't think I'm EVER going to get married." (me, 'why not?') "Because I don't know any girls who are the marrying kind!"

Again, on the way home from church, after a sermon by a guest speaker. "I'm going to be a pastor when I grow up!" (me, 'oh?, and why is that?') "Because they get to yell at the grown-ups!"

Nice comments, heehee!
Here's one more:
"When I grow up I want to be a train driver!"
(Me 'Oh? Why is that?')
"Because you can read a book while you drive, as you are on rails and can't get lost or crash!"
Simple, huh?!?

He sounds like a very insightful young man. It is so fun to get to know our children, and how different their minds work from ours.
