Frederick Meijer Gardens

Today, unexpectedly, I found myself at Frederick Meijer Gardens.

My sister Jan came in for the afternoon. We were going to go thrift shopping for books, a well known favorite activity of mine, and hers.

Instead, we went to the gardens.

It was absolutely wonderful!

She had never been there before.

I had gone quite soon after it opened, and again one Valentine's Day.

Oh, my! How much it has changed!

In February in Michigan, not much was visible but snow. I do remember that we took a long cold walk down to see DaVinci's Horse.
DaVinci's Horse looks much better on a breezy sunny September day with warm temperatures.
To be perfectly honest, the reason we ended up at the garden's is due to the menu posted on their website.

A wonderful Hummus Wrap. Yum.

My Maine friend, Anne, and I go on 'virtual' trips together from time to time. This week we went to the Frederick Meijer Garden's, so I went to their site so I could send her some more information about 'what we did'.

And then the cafe' appeared in the sidebar, including a menu.
While other people go to the gardens to view the gardens, I go for a sandwich.

And DaVinci's Horse.
This is a view from a small replica of the horse, showing the very large horse in the back ground.

I love this picture.

And the sandwich.

What a beautiful looking place. And the sky is so blue: it must have been a beautiful day.
