Interesting Stuff

I found the "Peace" plaque at Michael's Craft Store in the dollar bin.
I LOVE it. Now I wish I had bought a few more.
I found the angel with the lamb at the thrift store tonight. I had to go back, since I didn't look at everything on Saturday. I went at 5:00, and it was not busy at all. It was so quiet there that I stayed for over an hour.

While antique shopping over the weekend, I found the small picnic basket. So cute. I have so many plans for it. It has the 'pie holder' in the bottom of it. I like the tiny lock. I think I'll put some sewing in it.
Thrift shopping tonight, I also found five Ideals magazines and four crochet magazines one very old one with many nice baby things.

I love "Ideals" magazines...I wasn't even aware they're in print anymore. I guess that goes to show how often I look at the magazine racks in stores, eh? One of my Dear Hubby's aunts used to give hers to me after she'd read them but I haven't gotten any from her in years. I used to love "Women's Circle" magazine but it went out of print a few years back. They had a good portion of the magazine devoted to pen pals and once computers and email hit the fan, so to speak...well, we know letter writing has become ancient history in a mighty short time span! If I didn't have so much arthritis in my hands I'd still love to hand-write letters...I had some wonderful pen pals of many years -- the mom of my childhood best friend and I have been writing to each other for about 30 years. She recently got a computer, and she was the last of my hand-written-letter-writers, sigh. I love the angel and lamb figurine...I collect angels, have them scattered all over the house and in my curio cabinet.

I have a basket just like that. I love it. I currently use it to keep stationary and generic cards for birthdays, get well and thank you's. I love your thrift store finds. You seem to do much better than I do.
