It doesn't seem like yesterday, more like 'yettoday' since I have yet to go to bed.
My days are getting busier, as THGGM is working the 7:30 - 4:00 shift, and Daughter is working longer hours.
Thursday's my mom comes to play also. She seems to be settling in and enjoying herself, instead of always telling me that she should leave because I am such a busy person.
I was a busy person in the 80's and 90's. Compared to those days, I am a woman of leisure.
That is, if you enjoy having a baby perpendicular to your body at all times. I like that. I'm not complaining. But, the boy will ONLY sleep if I hold him.
Today we played with the Bob the Builder doll I found last weekend. Baby Boy loves it. When he hears the music it plays, he dances! He holds his arms up over his head, and wiggles his butt. It is just TOO cute!
THGGM and I went out when he got home from work. A great coupon came in the mail, so we went out for our favorites, Scandinavian Shuffles from Arnie's. When we left Arnie's the full moon was shining down on us. Lovely.
Feeling refreshed we decided to continue on instead of going home. Must be that full moon. Which again, I must say, was lovely. Howling lovely.
While driving to the mall, we passed a field full of yellow flowers, and deer. I saw three of them with their heads up, and the backs and tails of several others.
THGGM dropped me off at Barnes and Noble so that I could peruse the bookshelves for things costing way more than a dime. I have almost bought Rainer Maria Rilke's "Letters to a Young Poet" several times, but keep passing it up for other things. Tonight it was two crafting magazines. Next week my mom and I start in earnest on Christmas gifts and baking and stuff like that. At least, I'm hoping she can entertain Baby Boy while I do those things! I always tell myself that I will do my crafting at night, but once it gets dark, I am DONE FOR.
THGGM found a great sale at Macy's and it was Clinique Bonus days so he bought us both something. What a guy. He got shirts and ties, I got face stuff to make me look younger. It doesn't work, but I am ever hopeful. Which reminds me, Oldest Son was watching TV as a ten year old when a commercial came on advertising a product that would 'Make you look ten years younger!'. He found the thought perplexing. "Why would I want to look like a baby?" he wondered out loud.
I got home in time to watch the end of "Ugly Betty". I hardly watch any TV anymore. Except for Tiger baseball, which was very satisfying this afternoon. I'm not sure on what 'grounds' I am curtailing my TV viewing. Is it because there is nothing good on, or, is it because I cannot figure out how to find things on the new system we have. There have been times, if I were strong enough. I would have thrown the stupid stupid stupid TV out the window along with the two stupid stupid stupid remotes that give me fits. But, I have chosen the path of maturity (although occasionally i do tip a bit towards lunacy, but usually recover quite nicely). I have grown to HATE politcal ads. They make me break out in itchy hives. If I can made it to election day without developing a tic, it will be remarkable.
THGGM has a vacation day tomorrow. Vacation day picking came about while he was out of town, so this is just a random - 'you have to have so many days off' day off. I am sure we will enjoy it. He has big plans for me. I want the stupid stupid stupid broken sleeper sofa out of my art room. I might just have to take it all apart and chop it into small pieces and carry it out myself. I know I cannot move it out whole by myself, because when Youngest Son took it upon himself to move it up there, he got stuck between the couch and the wall on the bend in the stairs for quite sometime. I do not want that to happen to me.
Well, that's it from my corner of the world. Not much happens, until it does.

Back in the end of 1999 when we moved remote, due to a job change, there was no way to have TV, other than an expensive satellite hookup. Plus we WANTED to go without for a time. Instead we got very good movies, etc to watch and began our collection of ones like Little House on the Prairie, Jeeves and Wooster, the Jane Austin ones, All Creatures Great and Small. And it continued until we reached here in 2003...and we decided to not hook up here either. Our daughter has a small one in her room, with rabbit ears, so the reception is poor. She still watches A LOT...but we only on VERY rare ocassions. It is best. We study the scriptures a whole lot more and the LORD has blessed our lives SO MUCH...we have no desire to return. We feel we find a more balanced view of the news, via internet...both written and streaming stations from a variety of places, some not on this continent. We read other sources...listen some to radio. It was a VERY good choice we plan to keep! So your idea of throwing the TV away is not bad...but I suggest just disconnecting from stations...and keep one for videos, DVDs etc. Of course you would have to convince THGGM, eh??? And if that is like us, that is what I had to wait for...HIS choice! HA!
We didn't have TV in our home until our daughter was 12 and our son 10. Honestly, I dunno WHY we ever got it, outside of Jamie and Kaitlin being able to play video games on it. We have Dish satellite with a bazillion stations and I usually end up watching HGTV if I watch anything at all. I could probably refurbish the White HOuse by now, haha! I am NOT looking forward to the upcoming elections in 2008 and all the political mud-slinging that'll go on nationally...it's bad enough locally this year! I'm going to email you about the church I go to...please let me know if you don't get it 'coz I have tons of problems with AOL email recipients, either getting email from friends/family who have it or trying to get email to them. Hardly EVER works and I dunno why!!! Oh, and I know EXACTLY what you mean about Baby Boy...Little Man won't sleep anywhere but in my arms, too. If I try putting him down somewhere else, he pops wide awake! The kids can get him to go to sleep no problem in his crib, but I guess he just likes to snuggle with Grandma. Really, tho...my whole day is devoted to taking care of him...so I don't mind. Quite often Grandma drops off and snoozes right along with him, lol!
