I found this book on eBay.
It is 100 years old.
The pictures are wonderful.
If it wasn't that I read the short story "The Machine Stops" for a journalism class I took, I would never leave home and would do ALL of my shopping on line.
But, I did read it. This was before home computers were available. I could so easily become the woman in that story. If you are on the computer a lot (according to your family, not according to you!) you MUST read "The Machine Stops".
And in my less than humble opinion, everyone should read Stevenson.
I am amazed at the condition of this book, and the extremely fantastic price I got it for.

I love "A Child's Garden of Verse" I think my daughter's favorite is "The Swing" I've never quite finished memorizing it so when I push her I sort have to mumble recite!!
By the way you should get the cd "a child's garden of songs" by ted jacobs...it is the poeter of RLS in song and it is lovely. My favorite is 'where go the boats.'
Oh, such pretty illustrations! Thanks for sharing.... and Happy Thanksgiving! Blessings, Debra
oh me, oh me, oh my.
Beautiful.
You and me both!!! I LOVE books! I touch books like the one you found with a sense of reverance, even. I can't remember if I've ever told you I have my great-grandfather's copy of "A Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne and the publishing date inside it is like 1849 or something like that. I hold it in my hands every now and then and just day dream about where this book has been in it's lifetime...almost 160 years! Takes my breath away. Happy Thanksgiving to you, sweet Judy...hope your day is full of love, laughter, and peace. (((HUG)))
That book is to die for. How lucky you found it!
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
