Quite possibly I should have chosen a sunnier time of year for posting pictures of my favorite things - the sun is NOT cooperating.
Just bear with me.
At least we are not getting all that snow some of you are. Here, it's just COLD. One doesn't have to shovel cold. So there's a happy thought!
Some of my favorite things are black books. Bibles, prayer books, hymnals, and devotional books. Some in languages I cannot read. But the ones I can read, I do.

The two miniature vases are favorites too - especially when filled with tiny fake white flowers.
The white birds with the vases are salt and pepper shakers. If you think about it (and, i do) you cannot get more black and white than salt and pepper.
The other white birds seem to work on this shelf too.
These favorite things rest behind glass on the top shelf of a secretary desk.
Top shelves. Behind glass. There really isn't much out that Jonge and Famke have any interest in disturbing. They know that if they ask, I'll let them have a look. But fragile stuff is rather boring to the young.
The cabinet that has the green books and the white swans? Yes. That one in the post below. One day this week Jonge walked over to me and handed me a small swan. He said, "Beppe, I REALLY like this bird!" Hmm. I immediately wondered how they had gotten that door to open. Even I have trouble doing that. But there stood Famke, with a ring of big brightly colored keys she had 'borrowed' from Kado. I've learned that if I don't make a big deal out of things (which even though I have favorites they are just that - THINGS) Jonge and Famke leave them alone.
