Let Me Tell You About My Grandchildren

Kado can crawl. Kado can stand. Kado can eat a lot of food!

Kado can give me a look like this and my heart just MELTS.

Famke wasn't feeling well today. She left her intense coloring at the table and didn't answer when I called for her, so I went looking and found her in Kado's swing with two binkies. And a camera.

And, as you can see from this picture of her coloring, she is also left-handed. Like her Beppe and her Uncle Youngest Son. She is also potty training, and is remarkably GOOD at it.

Jonge wasn't feeling so great either.
Kado took a two hour nap in the morning and Famke took a two hour nap in the afternoon. But, we managed to get in some good schnuggling time. Jonge and I read some books and watched Leave It To Beaver.

Monday Jonge found these ill-fitting frames in the dress-up drawer. They used to belong to THGGM's grandmother. Daughter wore them in a play once. They've been around. This looked especially cute when Jonge wore them with his super hero cape, gloves and was riding through the house on Pa's cane. He can thank me later for not getting a picture of that.
Usually the days when they are not feeling well are the hardest. Today didn't seem that way. Everyone felt good enough to do what they wanted to do, and never mentioned not feeling well until I asked them to help with something. Then Famke would cough her pathetic cough and Jonge would insist that he had a fever.
Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE being a grandma?

adorable - poor sad famke in with the binkies (reminds me of K she was never happy unless she had one in her mouth and several in her hands - one of which she would shove under the base of her nose and press against it)....

I guess not feeling well slowed them all down just a notch or two.

I'm hearing you on loving being a grandma. We went thru the crummy colds a couple weeks ago, then Dear Hubby and I had an awful, awful bout of the stomach flu last week. Everyone - knock wood! - seems to be on the mend now.
