Do you remember that picture I posted a while back? Yes. That one. Of the squirrel with the nasty wound on his back.
Well, as you can see as of this morning, he is healing just fine. Fur is already filling in the damaged area.
Certainly hasn't put a damper on his appetite.
Oh, and concerning the hawk we keep seeing? There are two. THIS would explain why I am having such a difficult time identifying it.
THGGM saw one early yesterday morning when he was leaving for work. In the afternoon as we were pulling in the driveway there was a hawk sitting on a low branch. I pointed that one out to THGGM and he informed me that it definitely was NOT the same hawk he saw in the morning.
One of them is thinner, mostly white on the front with grayish feathers. It's tail is straight.
The other one is wider, with rusty speckled feathers on the front and a more brownish-red tail that has a rounder fan shape to it.
A pair? A cooper's hawk and a red-tailed hawk? I really want to get a good picture of them. But, it's easier to get a fat squirrel to pose.
