Easter Happened in a Cemetery

So today THGGM and I took a trip to the cemetery.

We had not been there since one snowy December day when we stomped around in the snow just to get a glimpse of the grave marker before we paid the bill.

It's a lovely marker.

For my family, I'm including details on how to find it.

This is the section of the Grandville Cemetery we are accustomed to visiting.

But that isn't where Grandpa is buried.

See our car in the back ground?

He's over there.

I'll show you how to get there, but first look at this.

This is the new marker for Uncle Symen. The very small old marker was sinking into the ground. The new one is on a cement slab and is larger.

Since 1930 there has been an Akkerman in this section of the cemetery.

Grandpa's marker is in section 2A. It's one driveway over from where we just were.

If you are coming down Prairie heading west it will be the third driveway.

I can never visit a cemetery without the cemetery scene from "Our Town" going through my mind.

"Do any human beings realize life while they live it, every every minute?"

Oh, that is a lovely marker. Really sweet and pretty, too. And I, also, always, always think of Our Town whenever I visit any cemetery. What a powerful scene is that one. I even think of Our Town whenever we drive through a nearby tiny country town called Wright's Corners. I even like to call it Grover's Corners because usually that's the name which comes to my mind first. Throws Tom off, though. :) Easter blessings are coming your way from me to you.... Debra
