A day with nothing that I have to do.
Nothing at all.
Well, except for the hundreds of usual things any living person has to do each day.
I'm a wee bit lonely here without the grand kids, I even left Caillou on in the background for company.
But, I'm gleefully giddy to have begun decorating for Christmas!
No. I am NOT insane. I realize it is too early. But I've got the time now. I won't later.
I'm just doing the small trees here and there. Lot's of things that little hands may touch.
An extremely long time ago I made ornamental gingerbread boys. Large ones too. Last year, after using them for about 15 years, I had to throw mine away. While going through my mom and dad's few boxes of Christmas stuff I found a sealed baggie with the mini gingerbread boys I had made for her at the same time - looking as new as the day I made them!
So, I'm thankful to have those. And very thankful for the time I had today to make some plans and start on the decorating.
(And off she goes, humming It's Christmas in Killarney...)

Warm hearts are happy hearts.
(((warm hugs)))
It is coming across precious unexpected 'gifts' like those gingerbread boys that keep our loved ones close by, no matter how long they've been departed. I wish I could've been there to see the look on your face, the way you touched them, when you found them.
