I've Got Plenty to Be Thankful For

I finished a book today.

The weather was warm enough in the afternoon that I sat outside to read.

What book, you ask?

"The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini.

Earlier this summer I read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Hosseini so I already knew I was going to have to read this one too.

I am so glad that I did.

Has anyone seen the movie? Is it good?

Last week I finished Jeanette Walls book "The Glass Castle".

Tonight I'll grab another memoir.

I love reading.

And I am truly thankful for GOOD books.

Any recommendations?

"Every Last One" by Anna Quindlen. If you haven't read it you've GOT to.

I have read all the books you mentioned. Have you read "The Help"? Very good too.

The Good Earth, by Pearl Buck. The Immigrant Series (Swedish).
O, Pioneers, by Willa Cather.

Just a few of my faves. Can't forget the Mitford Series, or The Christmas Box....I like seasonal books too!

Thanks for the recommendation. When any one ask me what books I've read and could recommend, my mind goes totally blank. People don't seem to ask anymore.

I enjoyed the Kite Runner, too. My new favorite author is John Shors. I love all of his books, but my favorite was Beside A Burning Sea (takes place in the Pacific during WWII). And his first book Beneath A Marble Sky is WONDERFUL.

Favorite book of all time: Willa Cather's "My Antonia."
