Removing a page from my daily calender today reminded me of another of my collection of Favorite Things.
Birds.
Well, bird books anyway.
These two small Bird Guides I bought a few years back for my mom. She found them in an antique store and immediately loved them. When she wasn't looking I bought them for her.
These pictures have a certain charm, don't you think?
These are most of my bird books, all purchased at thrift or antique stores.
Some I bought just to remove the pictures for framing. Others I actually use to identify birds seen around my yard.

The woodpeckers just may need to go into a frame. I love them. Except when their pecking gets out of hand.
Oh, and robins. I am soooo looking forward to seeing them in person again. Hopefully by the end of this month!
When I was a little girl I had a rather large book about birds for children. I fell in love with a picture of a blue bird. I'm still on a quest to find that book. Maybe someday...
But in the mean time, these will do nicely!

I am annoyed with how the words don't seem to match up with the pictures. Hmmm.
Much too soon for the robins to return here.
Usually it's April.
Me thinks if they come back in April they will be having a tough time to find food. :0(
I see snow on the ground until May at the very least. sigh!
We love watching the birds and feeding them. :0)
