Random Thoughts

I almost titled this "Random Rants" because, well, just LOOK at the cover of this book!
Obviously, my rant here would be about thrift stores that put price stickers on the COVERS of books.
My favorite thrift store did this. Normally, there is one price for all hardcover books. But this one was with the books that are individually priced, even though it's price was what ANY hardcover book would cost.
Arghhh.
But, the innards of this book are SO delightful, that instead of ranting, I shall sing it's praises, and choose to be happy about what a great old book this is.
Maybe someday I shall even find the first book, which I am going to assume is just plain old Heart Throbs.

And with such a great thought like this one from Kate Douglas Wiggin, I can only be happy to have purchased this.
In other news...
I spent the ENTIRE day undoing three months of winter decorating. Clearly, it was time. Although winter is not nearly over, and even though I was not sick of looking at wintry decor, everything was starting to look a bit tired.
Did I mention that I won a $50 gift card from Mel's blog in December? Just when I think that I never win at anything, I win a gift card! Then, this week I won a hand made charm at the Flea Market Style blog. I keep checking their website waiting for the NEW Flea Market Style magazine to appear in stores, where I am hoping to spend some of my gift card money, and I won something! I'm also hoping to buy the new Stampington and Co. magazine about making art with children.
Speaking of that.., my house was COVERED in punched out hearts. I LOVE heart punches, because even the smallest ones can make a decent heart, and the one with the wonky wrist if she cuts too much with scissors can also punch out hearts to her hearts content. What I'm actually looking for are ideas using Truvia boxes and the red lids from Jif peanut butter.
And, I am beside myself excited to find out just who this next grand-baby is going to be. Thursday is the ultra-sound date. Either/Or would be fine by me. But, Jonge thinks it only fair that Famke has a sister. He has been petitioning Heaven on her behalf.
Famke has a NEW thing that she says all the time. It's really quite funny. Her word is "Seriously". It precedes almost everything she says, and she also uses it in her closing remarks. Monday when I put her down for a nap, she made NO protest, except to tell me, "Seriously, Beppe, I am not tired. I am seriously not kidding you for really. Seriously. I am serious, seriously."
Jonge and Famke have gotten very good at playing games together. All I have to do is get the game down, and they can play it. Apparently, I was hovering a bit too much for Famke, who looked up at me and said, "Go away. We can do this. Seriously." They could and they did.
Kado likes to climb on things and cares not a twit if he falls. THGGM bolted the book shelves to the wall after seeing it for himself. Funny, how that works...
Oh! And guess what I saw today? The truck from my favorite thrift store backed into a neighbors drive-way. I was tempted to save them the trouble and just run down there and buy things as they went from the house to the truck. But I didn't. I'm classy that way.
Seriously.

It's not just used stores that affix stickers on books indiscriminately. It's ridiculous, I tell ya.
