Good-bye Winter

Today was a nice mix of work and play.
THGGM and I drove a bit north of GR to get a better view of the moon tonight. It was truly lovely. When we got back home and were again admiring it's beauty out our living room window, it felt like a holiday.
Anyway, we celebrated the last day of winter by hopping around from thrift store to thrift store, even stopping at one I had driven past for years without ever stopping. Today we made a point to go there. THGGM found a foot stool and has already recovered it with a remnant I found a few weeks ago. He also found an old folding card table with an intact albeit damaged picture of a sailing vessel on it. Folded, it makes a woooonderful screen for the fireplace in our basement. Who would have thought? I'm thinking I could cover some of the slight damage with old maps or something of that sort. My best finds were things for the grandkids. Tiny plastic animals, Winnie-the-Pooh characters, a couple of Fisher Price vintage Little People, and a cute little yellow duck for me. Every once in awhile you just have to spend a dime on yourself. Don't you think? I also found a crib quilt and a bumper pad to put in the cute little white baby bed I found last week. I think Famke's going to like that.
It was a GOOD Saturday.
Good-bye winter. Please take all the nasty weather with you as you leave.

Oh, I wish I'd taken a picture of the moon last night. We looked at it through the slats of our bedroom blinds and it is not visible this morning :(

I love it that you celebrated the end of winter! I thrifted, too. Found a couple of tops to wear on vacation and some books - children's books. 2 Golden books to add to my collection. And 2 white Phalzgraff plates. Not much else.

I have a bunch of vintage little people, too!

Spend a dime on yourself? I love it when you're living large like that!

You always find the best things in the thrift stores. The stores around here are really overpriced I think, I never see the great deals like you find!
