Really, dear readers, do I ask that much of you?
No. I do not.
But I implore you, if you have a young child in your life or retain even a bit of a child-like imagination, DO buy this book.
Salley Mavor is a fantastic artist who captures so much with a needle and thread and bits of wool and nature.
I've been waiting for it to appear at my local Barnes and Noble, but it never has. So, I ordered mine from Amazon.
It came yesterday.
I've been a mother and a grandmother long enough to know that the best way to assure that a child will want to see a particular book is to look at it with interest yourself.
When I handed if off to Jonge, after only perusing a few of the delightful pages, he was hooked.
After about ten minutes he returned carrying the book and told me that it was going to be a GREAT book for playing "I spy with my little eye".
And so we did.
For a loooong time.
While Famke napped and Kado pretended a snap closepin was a roaring alligator that was intent on biting us.
Actually, I'm hoping we shall wear this book out, as it is one I will be happy to buy again and again.
It's that lovely.
And I am sure you know someone who will think so too.

Delightful! It will be just the thing to take on roadtrips to Grammy's this summer. :-)
Thanks for the great tip.
