Just Humor Me

Yesterday Jonge, Famke, and I made these cute flowers.

They are cute, aren't they?

Jonge and Famke gave a bouquet of them to Uncle Youngest Son, the birthday boy.

Since Jonge had made DOZENS of them, he scattered them throughout my house.

I'm still finding them in brilliantly unusual places.

I put all of my flowers into one toilet paper roll vase. I feel a great sense of personal satisfaction when I can make something with things I already have on hand.

Of course, this isn't too difficult when one has A LOT on hand, as I seem to.

Two flower punches, which have been recent purchases with Michael's 50% off coupons. Scrapbook paper acquired that same way (i don't scrapbook, but i do love the paper!) a thrifted package of green pipecleaners, and a dip into my drawer of hoarded toilet paper rolls.

Knowing that I have an extremely loooong attention span for things like this, I'm always pleased when the kids stick with it. This is a great project, because at five and three, they could both do all of it by themselves. And, they ended up with something that made them happy!

Happy grand kids = happy Beppe!

Next up I think we shall try the flowers with dum-dum suckers in the center.

If we do, I shall post pictures. But you already knew that, didn't you?

It's hard to imagine that something so pretty can come from almost nothing, but IT DID! :0)
