My Aunt and Uncle who live in Wisconsin were in town. The afternoon was spent antiquing and driving through 'the old neighborhood' in Grand Rapids. That was all fun.
But towards evening we headed north to my sister and brother-in-law's home for a lovely picnic.
While my brother-in-law grilled on the deck, the rest of the meal waited patiently for us in the kitchen.

We all brought something. Even though my dad and mom are no longer here, I must point out my mom's baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad (and bowl!) right there along with our own unique touches!
It was seriously fun for everyone! Especially for me, as I'm still trying to figure out my camera. If you were there and find yourself not appearing in any of these pictures, you can thank me later. There were many shots with strange distortions. And some of people chewing. That's never attractive and I deleted those.
Room for all of us and even a kid's table - my dad's handiwork.
Kado will be TWO on Wednesday, so there were presents and even cupcakes!
Isn't this face just precious?! Grand Nephew did not want to wear that sandle, but eventually became too tired to fight it. And, as he well knows, grandmas always win!
Here they go, trapsing down to the pond to look for frogs.
Such a beautiful place to live. Lot's of deer. They've even hit them in their own driveway. That's the pond down there with the teeny tiny people around it. (well it WAS. i seemed to have lost a few pictures that had been here just moments ago...)

Looks like a grand gathering of the clan.
INDEED... it was a grand time had by all.
Happy Birthday Kado. xoxoxox
That does look like a beautiful place to live. Family get-togethers, nothing better. Glad you enjoyed your vacation time.
What a lovely setting, I like all the shade trees.
Nothing better then a family get together - especially if you like one another. Other wise it's awkward. I'd say it looks like you like one another.
These are the photo essays I love - sounds wonderful - full of memories.
is blogger insisting that your pictures be spaced much farther apart that you'd like? I think I'm getting frustrated with this problem.
I love the photo of the kids frog hunting. I have a lot of froggies in my yard this year (wet, wet spring) and the kids have made many friends.
I really like how your mom and dad are present in these gatherings.
You must miss them very much.
There are so many expressions that Kado makes where he seriously looks like Cooper. Maybe somewhere along the line we're related, lol!
