The Backyard Painters

FINALLY. It was below sizzling in the backyard and we were able to get out there and do at least ONE of the exciting things we'd planned to do this summer.

The backyard painters REALLY got into this. There were even a couple lesser known artists displaying their works.

Not until she had finished did it bother Famke to have her hair fall into her work of art.

Jonge might have looked happier had I hung his painting correctly.

Jonge's painting included the sky, a bridge, and a river with fish.

Details of Famke's work of art.

The backyard painters were swiftly carried off to Millienium Park for swimming and splash pad playing as soon as Pake arrived home from work. That certainly helped with the clean up!

And, again, I had the priviledge of having the 'little boys' all to myself while they were gone.

Oh! Such budding young artists. When you showed the details of Famke's painting I immediately thought of the time Jesus was asleep in the boat during the big storm. Funny, huh? I think that's what modern art is supposed to do--make us feel something and see what we want to (Famke's future career?). :)

Just wanted to also say thanks for your comments about my 7th blogiversary. I really appreciate your taking the time to congratulate me! Thanks for being a special friend.... Debra

Looks like they had tons of fun! And such wonderful paintings! I know what you mean about the heat! The best I've been able to muster for my little grandson is a daily trip to the creek - he in the water, and Nana under a tree!
Ahhhh summer!
