Monday in Elk Rapids

Our first stop after breakfast on Monday was to this antique mall just outside of Elk Rapids. This is perhaps one of my all time favorite antique malls. It's well maintained and has clean bathrooms. Can't complain about the prices either.

It had been rainy in the morning, which seemed to have brought out a large amount of novice antique shoppers from local camp grounds. Let's just say there are unwritten rules to antique shopping, and these people weren't aware of that.

This just might be the perfect house for me. Right across the street from a great antique mall.

THGGM is 6'2" which means he can on occasion wear light fixtures like hats. This antique mall is actually IN the town of Elk Rapids.

I told him not to jump. So he didn't.

THGGM is the orange spot on the bridge. That is the east bay of Grand Traverse Bay behind him.

And now for the view FROM the bridge.

"Two roads diverged in a wood and I,

I took the one less traveled by..."

Although THGGM didn't. He took the sidewalk.

Pretty berries in a tree.

The beach in Elk Rapids. This is where the road through downtown ends.

It was a very hot day, but comfortable at the beach. Surprisingly few people on the beach. Maybe they came later.

That beach picture is sooooo incredibly inviting. I'm glad he didn't jump.
